Business Distress Signals Decoded
Monday, August 24
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Main Library
Robeson Pavilion Room A & B
Every business failure leaves behind a trail of warning signs — but too often, those signs go unnoticed, misread, or ignored until it's too late. This workshop takes a hard look at the anatomy of business distress:
- The underlying causes that set decline in motion
- The financial and operational symptoms that signal trouble
- The deeply human reasons why leaders so frequently delay taking action
We'll examine how distress typically unfolds — from early-stage stress to full-blown crisis — and why factors like conflict aversion, fear of stigma, and ego can cause even experienced business owners to hesitate when decisive action is most needed.
Participants will leave with a sharper eye for recognizing distress in its earliest stages, a clearer understanding of the forces that slow response, and a stronger sense of why acting early — even when the picture is uncertain — nearly always leads to better outcomes than waiting for certainty that never comes.
