Crafty Adults | Punch Needle Tufting

Come learn a new craft every month at Crafty Adults!

Learn the art of punch needle and make your own tufted magnet in this class led by Brittany Heyen of High in Fiber Rugs. Participants will have the creative freedom to make their own simple design, or choose from a pre-made selection such as an egg, avocado, or strawberry. No previous experience needed!

About the presenter: Brittany Heyen (High in Fiber Rugs) came across rug tufting videos while itching for a hobby as many people were in 2021. After seeing enough videos of people painting with yarn to make their own carpet creations, she did the research and got started. Her work is created with sustainability in mind by sourcing primarily secondhand yarn and thrifting items to upcycle.

She has been selling her work at markets, hosting pop-up workshops, and most recently, has opened a studio/storefront in Lincoln Square Mall, where she leads rug tufting workshops and hosts guest instructors to teach other fiber arts such as crochet, knitting, sewing, weaving, embroidery, beading, macramé, felting, and more, while offering retail with a focus on handmade and vintage selections.

Registration opens    September 1 at 9:00 am (closes September 8). Registration is required.

These workshops are very popular and "sell out" quickly. Here are the details:

• Classes are limited   to 40 participants.
• There is a small waitlist    in case there are last-minute cancellations.
• Craft supplies    are provided. 
• Light Refreshments will be provided for "Happy Hour" from 6-6:30 pm.
• Instruction will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.
