The StudioCome learn a new craft every month at Crafty Adults!
This month, local artist and educator Paula McCarty will lead us through creating our own acrylic painting. Painters of all skill levels welcome, and there will be cookies!
About the instructor: Paula McCarty began her studies in painting at Parkland College before earning a BFA in Painting and Drawing from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1999. She later relocated to California, where she completed her MFA at California State University, Long Beach.
McCarty has taught in the Art Department at Parkland College and has led painting courses through the college’s non-credit program since 2012. Since 2017, she has served as exhibition designer at Springer Cultural Center. Her work has been exhibited regionally and nationally, and she maintains an active studio practice in Champaign, Illinois.
Registration opens October 1 at 9:00 am (closes October 13). Registration is required.
These workshops are very popular and "sell out" quickly. Here are the details:
- Classes are limited to 40 participants.
- There is a small waitlist in case there are last-minute cancellations.
- Craft supplies are provided.
- Light Refreshments will be provided for "Happy Hour" from 6-6:30 pm.
- Instruction will begin promptly at 6:30 pm.
