Sign up for any class and you'll automatically be enrolled in the entire 5 week series. We encourage you to attend as many sessions as possible.
Week 1 - Tuesday, July 16 & Thursday, July 18, 9-11:00 a.m.
Take a career scope assessment and learn about essential tools to help you get the job you want. Prepare to create your first draft of a resume.
Week 2 - Tuesday, July 23 & Thursday, July 25, 9-11:00 a.m.
We'll match you to the resources containing the jobs that best fit your skills and interests. You'll also learn about job search etiquette relating to networking, social media, following up with potential employers, hiring events, and more. Submit the first draft of your resume. If you haven't already done so, we will help you to create an email and indeed account.
Week 3 - Tuesday, July 30 & Thursday, August 1, 9-11:00 a.m.
Polish the first draft of your resume, create a cover letter, and learn about who should be included in your reference list.
Week 4 - Tuesday, August 6 & Thursday, August 8, 9-11:00 a.m.
Learn interview dos & dont's, complete a mock interview, develop your elevator speech, discuss transferable skills, and get feedback on your resume and cover letter.
Week 5 - Tuesday, August 13 & Thursday, August 15, 9-11:00 a.m.
Build the techniques needed to keep your job with this workshop discussing communication techniques, enthusiasm, attitude, teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking, professionalism, and email etiquette. Review job leads and hear success stories.
Our beautiful, state-of-the-art Main Library opened on January 6, 2008. You’ll find a wide variety of books, movies, and music, as well as free events for all ages. Looking for tech options? We offer free Wifi, dozens of public computers with internet access, and public meeting rooms.
