Spring can be a good time to prune many of our woody landscape plants, but what should I prune? Learn the fundamentals of young tree pruning (and some mature tree pruning, as well). We'll talk about cutting methods, tools, timing, and cut selection.
Alex Julius is a Board Certified Master Arborist, Certified Tree Climber, Certified Treecare Safety Professional, and Qualified Tree Risk Assessor. She earned her Masters in Arboriculture from UMass Amherst, and is co-author of the Tree Climbers' Guide. Alex is a project manager for The Davey Tree Expert Company, and a resident of Urbana, IL.
