Celebrate National Library Week with us!
First observed in 1958, National Library Week is sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and celebrated by libraries nationwide each April.
All week long, community members are invited to attend a variety of free events, including a gardening workshop, an evening with bestselling author Ben Clanton, our "Penny for Your Thoughts" live broadcast, storytimes, Friday Night Jam Sessions, book discussions, the Fantastic Foam & More Show, and so much more! All library events are free and open to everyone.
During National Library Week (April 19-25), you can "Read + Ride with MTD" for free! Simply show your Champaign or Urbana Free library card throughout the week. Available on all routes throughout the week. Plan your trip at mtd.org.
“Read + Ride with MTD” is presented in partnership with Champaign–Urbana Mass Transit District, Champaign Public Library, and The Urbana Free Library.
